2008 Stoney Hare Scramble Series Banquet
"Ma" Robbins Honored
Sponsors Showcased

The 2008 Stoney Lonesome Motorcycle Club Series Banquet was held November 15th at the Bartholomew County Fair Grounds. The banquet is an annual event which provides the venue for the much deserved recognition of our dedicated hare scramble racers. While the race participants are the key to making the SLMC events exciting and memorable, there are many people working behind the scenes contributing the the clubs success. One specific person was honored with a SLMC jacket during our 2008 banquet. "Ma" Robbins is, without a doubt, our kitchen boss at Stoney Lonesome. She is responsible for all concession related activity which we have all come to rely on during the event. She personally makes the famous "Stoney Coney" sauce which has fueled many racers for many years. All of us at the SLMC would like to extend a much deserved "THANK YOU" to Ma Robbins for her dedicated service to our club for many, many years. Top Three

In addition to recognizing our series participants and honoring "Ma" Robbins, SLMC allows our sponsors the opportunity to actively participate in our banquet. This allows our series sponsors to showcase their products and services to our participants. This involvement ranges from booths with products on display to sponsor provided awards and recognition. Keith Obermeyer of Obermeyer Yamaha took the time to present four dedicated SLMC series participants and Yamaha riders with a factory Yamaha watch. While there are many Yamaha riders that participate in the SLMC series, only four top riders were selected to receive the watches. Those riders were: John Maschino (2007 Series Champion), Bryan Dewar, Kevin morin and Tyson Robbins

2008 Stoney Team Race
Robbins/Cregg claim their spot on the rock!

The 2008 Stoney Lonesome Motorcycle Club team race was held November 16th following several days of rain and light snow flurries. The mini bikes had the honor of blasting into the very slick conditions in below freezing temperatures. The team of Anthony Wagler and Mathew Hatchet braved the cold and mud to take the win over Keagen Lee and Luke Wykoff. The big bikes had the pleasure of waiting until the mini bikes had cleared most of the standing mud holes before taking off in a full speed charge. Once again, the SLMC course provided great excitement and close racing throughout the entire day. After three hours of racing. the overall event first and second place were separated by a mere 49 seconds with third and fourth battling to a 2 second separation. At the end of the day, Andy Cregg and Johnny Robbins edged Logan Chilman and Daniel Sims for the overall championship and a coveted spot on the SLMC rock! Starting this year we added a National Adventure Ride Route to help expand and promote the two-day event. The event has been a charity ride since itís inception with one half of all proceeds being donated to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bartholomew and Brown County, as well as the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department and FOP. Over the past 19 years, Stoney has donated over $35,250.00 back to the community. The success of this Dual Sport Ride relies on the great support of our sponsors and Stoney Lonesomeís nearly 70 members. This years ride was held September 27th & 28th. Two different routes were offered this year, One for the more advanced riders with mostly single track trails and a gravel/asphalt route for the riders liking that type of riding. This year also included our National Adventure Ride Route. On Saturday night we held our traditional extra-ordinary evening hog roast for participants riding the event, property owners and sponsors. After the evening meal we gave away 100% of all merchandise that sponsors have donated to the riders.
